Let's take a nice, warm trip back to July 2004 for January 5th's Pic of the Day. I like to call this photo "Wayne Meets Wayne". Here we see southbound Polar Bear Express Engineman Wayne at the throttle of GP38-2 1806 as the consist slowly rolls across the 1800 foot long Moose River Bridge (Island Falls Subdivision's Mile 142.5). As I'm snapping this photo my ol' pal Wayne, who accompanied me on this trip (not in the photo), is making a mad dash up the embankment with our stuff to load it on the train so we won't hold the Passengers & Crew up any longer than we have to in order to hitch a ride home.
