The comradery of Cochrane Yard shined brightly today as Staff and Managers from a few different divisions of Cochrane Yard teamed up for a special Santa Claus Express. Using the laid over Northlander, kids from the local Daycare, Community Living, and the Parent's Resource Centre who under the usual Santa Claus Express restrictions can't ride the regular Santa Claus Express trips are invited aboard the train set for a trip across the Yard to pick up Santa and visit with him. The train boards at the Shops and takes a slow ride down the Shop track to the Station to pick up Santa. The train then takes a few back and forth movements on the Shops Runaround track to the other end of the Yard to make the kids feel as if they're on an actual train journey. Gift bags were handed out to the little passengers courtesy of ONR and Operation Lifesaver. The entire ride lasted about a half an hour and came to an end with the kids loving the ride and the Staff thrilled to be able make it all possible for them. My hat's off to all of you who made this trip a possibility.
