Say hello to the "Excursion" version of the "Super
Bear". This is a photo captured July 4th just south of
the Cochrane Station platform as 421 Head End Brakeman
Phil protects the train's head end as the consist, which
includes the canoe car (primarily used as a buffer at
this point), chain cars, mail car, ski-doo car, express
car, 2 diners, a snack car, a bar car, a "kiddie car"
(the Twilight's new job... long story), the baggage car,
and approximately 7 coaches, slowly rolls up the
platform for boarding. B.O.'d for today's trip is the
Otter Rapids Dome Car and the 413 Mail car (replaced by
a 2800 box car). It was a somewhat speedy boarding
process with the 421 booking out with a 0908 departure
time.
