FEATURED "PIC OF THE DAY" OCTOBER 5, 2014
After working in Thunder Bay for a week, I arrived back at Cochrane to find one of Ontario Northland's last remaining centre cupola cabooses, the 126, which spent many years sitting in Hearst as a spare for SBU failures (See a photo HERE), sitting on the shop rip on October 5th. I immediately found out that the plan for the 126 is to convert it for hoesch service. It will serve as part of a special "ready to go" consist for derailments. The 126 will be retrofitted as a rider for approximately a crew of 5. A 7700 series box car will also be converted as a supply car that will be part of this new hoesch consist. Big thanks to Winston and Darin for the info.
