FEATURED "PIC OF THE DAY" NOVEMBER 16, 2013
A small derailment involving Cochrane to Moosonee freight 419-620 which occured Friday November 15th stranding the train at Moosonee required the ordering of this extra out of Cochrane on Saturday November 16th. Since all road access to Moosonee ends at about the half way mark at Otter Rapids, the hoesch is unable to access derailments beyond Otter Rapids. Therefore specials such as these are necessary in order to get the crews and equipment to where they're needed. We're on the outskirts of Cochrane Yard November 16th as Work 1809 rolls out of town for Moosonee and the derailment site. Today's consist includes GP38-2 1804, unilevel coach 600 (carrying the manpower), APU 204 (providing heat and lights to the 600 & 2556), and Express Car 2556 (filled with most of the equipment from the hoesch and some material from Maintenance of Way).
