FEATURED "PIC OF THE DAY" SEPTEMBER 1, 2012
When you have a massive problem with gears and pistons which pretty much locks up half of your GP38-2 truck and you're approximately 141 miles from the home shop, this is pretty much how the problem is solved. August 31st turned out to be quite a busy day for Cochrane Shops' Darin and Kevin as they were forced to haul a pile of necessary equipment from Cochrane Shops to Fraserdale (mile 69.3 of the Island Falls Sub), then take to the rails in their designated hirailer for the 25mph ride all the way up to Moose River in order to repair the damage to GP38-2 1804 which was leading August 29th's southbound 620. A replacement unit was ferried to Moose River via the northbound 423 Polar Bear from Cochrane in order for 620 to continue the southbound trip that day. Since the back axle of the trailing truck of 1804 wasn't moving, it had to be left at Moose River.
