FEATURED "PIC OF THE DAY" JULY 13, 2012

Her future wasn't very certain for a very long time after being involved in a massive derailment on the Temagami Subdivision in April 2011 (See the derailment photo here). In that wreck photo, SD75I 2102 is the third trailing unit that is sitting upright. Luckily, there were no deaths in the wreck, but the lead unit and second trailing unit in that derailment, SD75I 2100 & SD40-2 1737 were written off and scrapped, but thanks to a heck of a lot of hard work and testing at North Bay's Locomotive Shops, July 13th's 213 from Englehart to Cochrane presented to all a completely repaired and patch painted 2102. This first photo shows the Conductor's side of the unit as 213 rolls into Cochrane. You can see the work that went into the undercarriage in order to return 2102 to revenue service. You can also note the addition of an e-bell painted bright yellow where 2102's regular "clanger" would normally be found.
