We're along the scenic hills and valleys of the Kirkland Lake Subdivision in July 2005. Seen here is northbound 211 enroute to Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec from Englehart with SD40-2 1735 in the lead position. Giving a smile and a wave as he rushes by is today's Engineman Rob, who I found out later was actually performing his E.S.B. classification trip today. Rob is being evaluated by today's Conductor Tim, who is the Manager of Train Operations in North Bay. I'm happy to report that Rob ran the "ups and downs" of the Kirkland Lake Subdivision flawlessly and is now a certified E.S.B. (Engineman Services Brakeman), which means he now qualifies for Conductor, Brakeman, and Engineman jobs.
