We're aboard southbound 624 "The Polar Bear Express" approaching Otter Rapids (Mile 93.5) July 2004 as Conductor Helper Jim (seen here) along with PBX Brakeman Derrick prepare to detrain to perform the Polar Bear's mid-trip equipment inspection otherwise known as a "P.K." Once the boys are on solid ground (one on each side), the train slowly rolls by them. If all is well they'll jump back on at the last available vestibule doors which are already opened for them.
