Remember those days when the Nation's Railways served as a vital lifeline in the development of a young Canada? Well, I guess you could say that history repeated itself after a collapse of the Aubrey Cosens Bridge at Latchford January 2003. This is a photo snapped at Englehart of a Special Train designated as a railway School Bus commuting kids from Temagami (on the south end of the bridge) to New Liskeard (north of the bridge) to school. The consist included GP38-2 1808, APU 204, and Coach 601. The train ran for about 10 days until an emergency bridge was built alongside the collapsed highway bridge allowing school buses to resume their runs.
