In July 2005 the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission, ten people from ten different municipalities which are served by Ontario Northland, and other Senior Management from the Crown Corporation held a special meeting aboard the Polar Bear Express. Equipment utilized for the day's meetings included  Tail End Dining Car "Indigo", Tavern/Lounge Car "Manhattan", and Heritage Coach 853. 853's sole purpose of being thrown into the consist was the fact that it had a bathroom (The "Indigo" & "Manhattan" don't have one).
