The Island Falls Subdivision was a very tough subdivision to build, and these huge crosses you'll see while travelling north to Moosonee signify that. These crosses are erected in memory of all those who lost their lives building this northern subdivision. At the end of the line is a monument erected to honor the memory of those who lost their lives during this difficult undertaking. This particular cross is erected at Moose River (Mile 143). The photo was taken August 2007.
