With the introduction of a "new & improved", year 'round Polar Bear Express service, came a new "Mail Car". This is classic ONR Baggage Car 413, which spent years at Cochrane providing a place for birds to land.... and that was about it. With the installation of HEP system wiring, and a speedy coat of Tremclad White, 413 ran the mail north replacing 2700 & 2800 series box cars. Unfortunately, her new life didn't last long as a broken draw bar ended her responsibilities in late 2007. The birds are no longer homeless :).
